Notes from the Principal
Welcome to the Holy Spirit School Website!
On Friday, September 15th, Archbishop Joseph Cardinal Tobin visited Holy Spirit Parish. Subsequent to his celebration of Mass at 7:30 p.m., Cardinal Tobin held a townhall type meeting in the Parish Hall. After the townhall, Cardinal Tobin - with Fr. Armand, Fr. Jose, and Mr. Lamberti present - blessed Holy Spirit School. Please see the News and Events section for more.
8th grade students Morgan Miranda, Kenneth Macalos and Isabella Pastore joined Mrs. Alvarado and Mr. Lamberti and were in attendance at Archbishop Joseph Cardinal Tobin's Imposition of the Pallium Mass on Thursday, September 14th, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Basilica in Newark. See the News and Announcements section. Check out the recent edition of the Catholic Advocate as Holy Spirit School is noted in the article about the Pallium Mass.
Please see the Back to School folder and see revisions for our Before & Aftercare Program. We now have a Plan C for beforecare only. In the event that we deem a need for a Plan D - aftercare only, that would be done effective October 2, 2017.
CAMP SPIRIT: The first ever summer enrichment program at HSS - Camp Spirit - was quite successful. The program ran from June 19th to July 27th. I thank all of the parents and guardians who enrolled children in the program, and I thank all staff members for making Camp Spirit - Summer 2017 - a success.
Clothing Drive: Due to continued interest and to the numbers of bags we’re already collecting, Holy Spirit School is extending the timeframe for its clothing drive until Friday, September 29, 2017. Please drop off any clothing items you wish to donate to the school during operational hours. Clothing donations must be bagged. The collected clothing will be picked up September 30th (or shortly thereafter) by Synergy In-Kind Donation Management, Inc., and the school will receive a reasonable rate in this fundraising effort. Monies accrued via the drive will benefit our technology and science programs. Clothing may be dropped off at the school – Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 12 noon during the summer. Beginning September 5, 2017, clothing may be dropped off at the school during school hours – 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents of HSS students can gain service hours with their donations, and parishioners who do not have children at HSS will receive a thank you letter. Thus, please tag each bag you donate with your name and contact information. Thank you for your generosity and support.
HSS is accepting registrations for incoming students grades Pre-K (4 yr. olds) through 8. Please call us at (908) 687-8415 or email Mrs. Speronza at firstname.lastname@example.org for detailed information.
